Protection for your water and sewer lines

On December 11, 2009, The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) Board of Directors unanimously voted to contract with us, Utility Line Security, LLC, to provide a service line protection program to PWSA customers on an OPT-OUT basis. That is, if you are a qualifying PWSA customer, you will automatically have the program's protection and will be billed $5.00 per month for the program's coverage on your PWSA bill.

WHAT THE PROgRAM MEANS TO YOU

Many of you have personally experienced or are aware of the burden of replacing water and/or sewer lines between the exterior of your home and the PWSA curb line. This is an extremely expensive repair that can cost thousands of dollars and create tremendous hardship for homeowners. Beginning January 1, 2010, you will automatically qualify for and have the ability to receive coverage on your external water service line and your sewer lateral line with no dollar limit. Repairs will include concrete work and paving of those portions of driveways, sidewalks and streets damaged by line breaks or necessary repairs. If you would like to opt-out of this service line protection program, you will get a full refund of service line protection program payments made within the first six (6) months of 2010. You must give us notice that you are opting out of the program on or before July I, 2010 in order to receive the refund. You can opt out after July 1, 2010, but will not receive a refund.
